This course covers all the key skills to install, fault find and inspect and test electric vehicle charging points in compliance with BS 7671:2018, the Electrical Safety Quality & Continuity Regulations and the new IET Code of Practice. The transportation industry is shifting into the electric lane, making the switch to a fuel-free, decarbonised industry. With demand repeatedly increasing, the need for charge points is following suit.

Course Content
- Be a practicing Electrician
- Completed 18th Edition Certificate
- Completed 2391-52 Inspection and Testing Course
Be able to correctly install and terminate:
- pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth)
- Steel Wire armoured cable (swa)
- Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork.
Please Note: These competencies are not taught as part of the course. It is also recommended that you are up to date with your wiring regulations. If you need to enrol on an 18th Edition course, we can help you.
The course will reference the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 4th Edition. Also, the requirements of BS:7671 2018 and Electricity Safety Quality Continuity Regulations 2002, design and installation requirements, and earthing specifications. This covers installations for dwellings, on-street charging, commercial and industrial sites.
